Which complete set is right for your terrace?
A WPC complete decking set makes planning a new terrace much easier: the required decking boards, suitable substructure and fastening materials are already calculated according to the selected terrace size.
But which complete set is the right one? In addition to the terrace area, the decking profile, surface finish, board length and planned terrace construction all play an important role.
1. Classic or Premium – which WPC decking is right for you?
The first step is choosing your decking board.
At Extrawood, you can choose between decking boards from our Classic Series and co-extruded WPC decking boards from our Premium Series.
Classic WPC features a proven WPC material structure and is suitable for a wide range of terrace projects.
The boards in our Premium Series have a WPC core surrounded by an additional protective polymer layer. This makes the surface particularly resistant to moisture and stains while also making it easy to maintain.
Which option is better for your terrace therefore depends not only on your budget, but also on your requirements regarding surface finish, design and maintenance.
2. Hollow-core or solid?
Another important difference is the construction of the decking profile.
Hollow-core WPC decking boards have hollow chambers inside the profile, which reduces their overall weight.
Solid WPC decking boards, on the other hand, are made of material throughout the entire profile cross-section and do not contain hollow chambers.
Both options are suitable for building a WPC terrace. The choice can therefore be made according to your preferred decking profile, design, construction requirements and budget.
3. Choose the colour and surface finish
Once you have selected the decking profile, you can choose the colour and surface finish that best suits your project.
Depending on the collection, Extrawood offers a variety of colours and surface textures – from finely brushed or finely grooved finishes to more pronounced wood-grain designs.
As colours can appear different on screen depending on the display and lighting conditions, we recommend viewing a sample of your preferred decking board before placing your order.

4. Which board length – 3 m or 4 m?
Many of our WPC decking boards are available in 3 m and 4 m lengths.
The most suitable length for your terrace depends on its dimensions and the planned laying direction. It is not always necessary to build the entire terrace using only one board length.
Combining 3 m and 4 m boards can often help adapt the installation more efficiently to the dimensions of the terrace. This can reduce offcuts and make better use of the material.

5. Which substructure should you choose?
A WPC terrace always requires a suitable substructure.
Depending on the selected complete set and terrace construction, different solutions are available. At Extrawood, you can find both WPC and aluminium substructures as well as additional WPC decking accessories.
The substructure forms the supporting base of the terrace and allows the decking boards to be securely fastened.
When choosing a substructure, factors such as the available installation height, the existing surface and the planned terrace construction should be taken into account.
6. When are adjustable pedestals useful?
Height-adjustable pedestals are installed beneath the substructure and allow its height to be precisely adjusted.
They are particularly useful when differences in the level of the existing surface need to be compensated for, when a specific installation height is required, or when a greater distance between the surface and the substructure is needed.
Depending on the construction, adjustable pedestals can also be a practical solution for terraces installed on concrete surfaces, balconies or roof terraces.
However, adjustable pedestals are not required for every terrace. Whether they are suitable for your project depends on the existing surface and the required installation height.
For applicable complete sets, suitable adjustable pedestals can be selected directly during configuration.
7. Choose the right terrace size
Our WPC complete decking sets are available for different terrace sizes.
The required components are calculated according to the selected area. These include in particular:
- WPC decking boards
- Substructure
- WPC fastening clips
- Start and end clips
Depending on the selected configuration, additional components such as height-adjustable pedestals can also be added.
Before ordering, you should therefore measure your terrace as accurately as possible.
