Why is it worth ordering WPC samples?
A terrace is a long-term decision, and the decking board you choose will have a major influence on its overall appearance. Product photos are useful for making an initial selection, but they cannot replace seeing and comparing real samples.
With a WPC sample, you can see the actual colour, examine the surface texture and feel the material yourself. You can also compare several options directly side by side.
Colours look different on every screen
How a colour appears depends on factors such as the screen, brightness and individual display settings. The lighting used for product photography can also affect how a decking board appears in a photo.
As a result, the same colour can look different on a smartphone, laptop or monitor – and may look different again in real life.
A real sample allows you to view the colour under the same lighting conditions that will later affect your terrace.
Surface texture is difficult to judge from photos alone
In addition to colour, the surface texture is an important factor when choosing a decking board.
Depending on the collection, different surface finishes are available – for example, finely brushed, finely grooved or more pronounced wood-grain finishes.
Photos can give you an idea of what a surface looks like, but only a real sample allows you to see how pronounced the texture actually is and how the board feels.
Compare several colours side by side
Samples are particularly useful if you are choosing between several similar colours. A grey tone, for example, may appear warmer or cooler depending on the light, while brown and wood tones can look very different when placed next to other materials.

It is best to look at the samples not only indoors, but also at the actual location of your future terrace.
Place the samples next to the house façade, terrace door, window frames or other materials that will be directly adjacent to the finished terrace.
It is also worth viewing the boards at different times of day. The same colour can look different in direct sunlight, in the shade or under an overcast sky.
This will help you decide which colour and surface finish work best with your house and its surroundings.

At Extrawood, you can choose between Classic WPC decking boards and co-extruded WPC decking boards from the Premium Series.
Classic WPC and co-extruded WPC differ, among other things, in their surface construction. With real samples, you can compare not only their appearance but also how the different surfaces feel.
